Pacific Coast Highway Roadtrip

One of my favorite drives in the west coast has to be the Pacific Coast Highway. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the opportunity to do this drive while growing up in the bay area until I got older. Now i’m always eager to visit home to do this trip again. We only covered the central coast, so i’m hoping to take this drive all the way down next time!

Our journey started in Oakland. We made our way to Monterey and stopped at Captain + Stoker cafe where we got vanilla lattes then checked into the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel And Spa. We spent the afternoon exploring Carmel’s 17-mile scenic drive which was incredibly beautiful, then had dinner at Toro in Carmel.

The next morning we checked out of the hotel and headed towards Big Sur, stopping at multiple viewpoints including Bixby Bridge, Pfeiffer Beach, and McWay falls. The entire drive is very scenic and there are so many view points to stop and take photos or simply enjoy the view.

After spending the day driving and taking in the views, we finally made it to Cambria which is the cutest little costal town and spent the night at White Water Inn. I’ve seen this place all over Instagram and have always wanted to stay here. It’s even more beautiful in person than photos can ever do it justice. It’s located right on the oceanfront, and includes bikes rentals, and daily breakfast sent to your door every morning.

If you’re looking for a place to stay on your next visit to the central coast, definitely check out White Water Inn. I would highly recommend it. It’s a great place to unwind, relax, enjoy the ocean views, and there are tons of great restaurants around. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time exploring this area! Check out my full vlog where I cover the entire roadtrip in detail.
